Introduction

HOW IS ENERGY STORED IN YOUR BODY?

The body stores energy in a few ways:

  1. When the body breaks down carbohydrates from food, it converts them into glucose, which is the main source of fuel for cells.

  2. When the body doesn't need glucose for energy, it stores it in the liver and muscles as glycogen.

  3. Glycogen is a backup fuel that releases glucose into the bloodstream when the body needs a quick energy boost.
